O how blessed I am that thou hast set thyself apart some time; so that I canst have the privilege of convicting myself upon my conscience, that I shouldest make the scriptures into a book, that is not a book of law, but a book that I can do whatever I desirest. For it hath indeed become very evident to me that the Lord is not slack concerning his promise that he doth love me, and that there is no thing as hell, for I know that when I am purged in the lake of fire, I will rest forever with him in heaven, where all the good people are. For the Universalist says that indeed all people shall inherit eternal life, and shall not rot their bones in the grave after death. O how blessed are His ways, and His paths beyond finding out, for he doth love every man, and it is not his desire that any should perish, but that every man should live a happy and meaningful life. Selah.

“Himmelfaudach” willl be a strange word to non-Dutchies and they are ever more numerous among the Beachys. If I’m correct, it’s “Himmel-fahr-tag in standard German, meaning: Heaven [go, travel, drive] Day. In English, “Acension Day.” The German is so much more vivid and descriptive!
