NO you can't expect to live in this world and "of this world" and still by happy and fulfilled. You choose the world, expect prideful ways and money to be your God. Live simplicity of heart, mind, and soul, or be eternally lost. And, this coming from a Catholic. Yes, it is easier for camel to go through the eye of the needle than a rich man to enter the gates of heaven. And don't you doubt that for a minute. The reason you might be complex and confused is that you are trying to fit into this world and the world God wants you in. The junk that fills your mind is not of God. As if I didn't before. Growing up Beachy, I wanted the self-made Beachy man with his castle and wealth (and the friendship of his sisters). However, I was too intelligent and confident. I could discuss world politics but didn't have a clue how to take care of children or cook. At 21 I did marry, but for love not wealth, children or status. I just found your site. I haven't been a member of the Beachy church for 8 years, but this is all too real/painful to be funny. I will keep reading and hopefully find some healing as I learn to laugh about the "complex" that caused me such pain. Now I understand! As if I didn’t before. I have no problem living your way if you let me keep my faith and attend my church once a week. Now, that's what I call the impossible dream!!
