Pretty funny, and there’s no amish language in this one so I get it. I had to put an amish translator on retainer so I could understand the last one.

Hey
Why is it that beachys and mennonites are so deadset on marrying off their kids…. is it cause they are afraid that the beachy population will eventually disappear if they don’t get married and have kids??? OR is simply cause they have so many kids and are tired of having them all at home???

Hey David, seems to me there would be better things to do then think up such outrageous fantasies. Not worth my time to read it.

You sure seem to know the nuances of devout Beachyism. Some of the writing is indistinct and hard to decipher, I hooted, nevertheless.

pagirl,
The replacement fertility rate for most populations is 2.1 births per woman. What is the replacement fertility rate for a Beachy Amish woman? Here we have to factor in the number of defections from the Beachy Amish church, a difficult task. In the Beachy Amish church I grew up in, the membership has remained basically unchanged over the last 30 years despite many quite large families. Now, some departures were simply relocations but a very large number did leave the Beachy Amish church. In my family only one of seven kids remains Beachy. So, for the Beachy church I’m familiar with each woman must have at least 5 kids just to maintain the replacement level. Perhaps that’s why getting the kids out and married is so vital…

Are you sure you shouldn’t rename “Super Beachy” to “Beachy Boy, Madgabber of Spiehl” (or something like that) for this episode?
