Blog Poll
Thanks, readers.
Your responses and input have indeed been valuable as we carefully contemplate (with many heated mens’ meetings of course) the future direction of this unofficial ministry to the Beachy church.
You may recall that back in August “amishbeachy” called for a new Beachy name replacement. We received numerous submissions, including “Deconfederectshipment”, suggested by the venerable BC member “Holiness Beachy Boy”.
The pro’s and cons of deconfederectshipment was aptly defended in a subsequent post. Soon, the Beachy Complex Name Replacement contest was begun. Readers were given the opportunity to vote via a poll on the sidebar.
Well folks. The results are in. We had a tight race, but Deconfederectshipment squeezed out on top, garnering a grand total of 25% of popular vote. “Conference”, surprisingly, came in a close second. The incumbent, “consituency”, came in 2nd to last with only 15.4%. And of course, “independent” came in a solid last position to the race.
What does this mean? Beachy’s are ready for change. Not only are dissatisfied with the conventional “constituency” (we obviously don’t think it fits our nature as Beachy’s), we are ready for change (proven by the overwhelming popularity for “conference” and “Deconfederectshipment”). We have problems seeing our churches as independent because of their tendency to still toe the party line.
The Deconfederectshipment win is great news. As members of the newly named BAD (Beachy Amish Deconfederectshipment), we here at the Beachy Complex wish to be the first to congratulate you on the stunningly brilliant new acronym.
From henceforth, the official abbreviation of the Beachy religion shall be BAD.
The next step in the sweeping new changes revolutionizing the BAD webosphere (and hopefully eventually translating to real life) will be to define the Beachy Amish Deconfederectshipment once and for all. To do that, we here at the Beachy Complex again offer you a poll on which you can vote on what you think the defining characteristics of BAD churches. Please show your support by voting.
