Iraq
You know, some people drive me crazy. There was some crazy J.W.’s who came to my door the other day. Now if it’s anything I hate, it’s people waking me up from my Sunday nap. I answered the door, all grouchy. About the first thing they said, was, “Do you support the Iraq war?” I said, “Of course I support Operation Iraqi Freedom”. After all, I was a Beachy. And Bush was a really good man, who wasn’t ashamed to stand up against the injustices of our day and speak out against abortion and homosexuality. I was waking up now!
They said, “Did you know that Jesus advocated laying down the sword, and the kingdom He brought was actually peaceable?” Now this got me ticked. Who were they, a cult, to be lecturing me about nonresistance??? I said “of course I know that. My ancestors thought of that idea long before yours did. In fact, because we are Beachy’s, we don’t even defend ourselves against an attacker (although I was seriously considering it at the moment).
I have trouble understanding the next part. All I know that happened is that his mouth kinda dropped open. Then he muttered something about “how can you be so blind to your own inconsistencies…” I didn’t hear all of it. But I slammed the door in his face and went back to my bed. Ah. Precious sleep.
