Constitutency Identity Issues
I did some research on the word Consitituency. First of all I found out that it is a noun. Here are some other things various dictionaries had to say (taken from Dictionary.com):
The body of voters or the residents of a district represented by an elected legislator or official.
A group of supporters or patrons.
A group served by an organization or institution; a clientele:
a body of citizens entitled to elect a representative (as to a legislative or executive office)
the residents in an electoral district
an electoral district
Hmm, supporters, clientele, patrons, residents. And every time I ever heard politicians talking about their constituents I thought they were talking about Beachys. Now that I know the politicians and liberal media was right in their use. I’m suddenly wondering what in the world the word has to do with Beachys. Beachys are not a corporation. They say they aren’t a conference, so I don’t know how to go about proving they are an institution (outside of CBS maybe). And they don’t traditionally vote. Hmm maybe some mission board gave us the title because we are so good at patronizing them. Other than that, I’m lost here.
